What is Hotline?

Hotline is a 1990s-era client–server system for sharing files and chatting in real time. Instead of a web browser, you use a Hotline client to connect directly to a server, browse its file areas, join chat rooms, and send private messages.

Hotline was originally developed by Big Red H Software. The Apple Media Archive is one such Hotline server, focused on Apple history and media.

How to connect

  1. Open your Hotline-compatible client.
  2. Choose “Connect”, “New Connection”, or “Add Server”.
  3. In the Server / Connect / Address field, enter hotline.semihosted.xyz exactly as shown — do not add http:// or https://.
  4. Connect, then browse the Files area.

The Hotline server is powered by Mobius.
